How to create & install a mood theme
Part 1 - Making the moods
You need to find 132 images to suit these emotions (in the table below). Make a folder on your computer and put your images there, named, for example "accomplished.jpg". Once you've got all 132 then you can edit the pictures and colorize them to make them all pretty. Save them, either overwrite the original image, or make another new folder.
Here's an easy way to make the images:
Take your screencap, resize it, paste it into a new image (i used size 90x40).
Duplicate it 3 times, set those layers to screen, add a layer of saturation +10 and here's what you get.
This is fairly time consuming. The hardest part is finding all the pictures to use.
Read through the list, and you can use similar pictures for many of the moods.
For example, pictures of people smiling for the moods bouncy, cheerful, ecstatic, excited, giddy, good, etc...
Don't know some of the meanings? Here are some of the stranger ones...
Apathetic: blah, emotionless, uncaring, uninterested
Complacent: satisfied, tolerant
Enthralled: enrapt, fascinated, interested
Exanimate: dead, finished, gone
Indescribable: impossible, speechless
Irate: annoyed, angry, enraged, mad
Listless: bored, careless, lethargic, uninterested
Melancholy: gloomy, miserable, sad
Morose: depressed, gloomy, sad
Nostalgic: homesick, lonely, longing, sentimental
Pensive: pondering, reflective, thoughtful
Predatory: brutal, greedy, mean, ruthless
Quixotic: eccentric, goofy, impulsive, weird
Recumbent: calm, lying down, relaxed
Part 2 - Installing the theme
Upload all your images to a server. Use a host where they can all be uploaded together, in their own folder. Hosts like photobucket or a personal host are best. Not tinypic or imageshack, that makes things more difficult. For those photobucket users, I highly recommend Flock. You can upload 100's of pics with one click.
Next step is creating the code. Copy and paste this into notepad...
With the code open in Notepad, go to Edit > Replace (CTRL + H)
Find what: http://website.com
Replace with: the place you uploaded your pictures
eg. http://i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff286/b abydoll19lj2/moodtheme
Don't include the ending file name ('mood.png')
Leave it at the folder the images are uploaded to. Replace all.
Go to Edit > Replace again.
Find what: 90 40
Replace with: the width and height of your images
This is the size of your images, replace 90 with the width and 40 with the height. Replace all.
Also, if your images are not .png then find .png and replace all with the format you used, .gif or .jpg
Leave notepad open, we'll need it again in a minute.
If you have a basic account, temporarily switch to a plus account while installing the mood theme, and switch back to basic after. You can still use your moodtheme on a basic account once it's installed.
Now go to the Admin Console.
Copy and paste this line into the box: moodtheme_create "Name" "Description"
Fill in the name and description of your theme and click execute.
Now see the mood theme ID given to you? (the number in green) Copy that... and go back to notepad.
Go to Edit > Replace again, type "123456" into 'Find what:' and 'Replace with:' your new number.
Now, copy the entire notepad code into the admin console box and click execute. Finished!
Go to Display and use your new theme.
